Family Paths 40th Anniversary

Why families

Research shows that 50% of children who are abused before the age of ten develop psychiatric problems later in life. Early exposure to violence increases the risk of adolescent violent behavior by as much as 40%. Working to strengthen families through positive intervention, Family Paths prevents child abuse and neglect now, and prevents future crime in the community.

You can help

Help parents in your community build stronger relationships with their children in order for them to grow up happy and healthy. Here’s how you can get involved:

Become a member
Sign up to give ongoing support to our organization. Every dollar you contribute this year is an investment in our community and its future. Become a member.

Join our event planning group
In August we started planning our second annual benefit for April 2011 and we welcome your ideas and energy to make the event memorable and successful. For the event-planning group, we ask you to attend meetings 1-2 times per month and give a minimum time commitment of 6-10 hours per month through April 2011.

Volunteer on the 24-hour family support hotline
Family Paths offer extensive training to help our volunteers become the qualified counselors that callers need. Hotline work follows the same model as all of the agency's programs: Family Paths supports and teaches you, so that you can support and teach parents, so that they can support and teach their children. It’s simple. And it works.
